Communication Representative/Triage

 

 

Position Title:     Communication Representative/Triage

Department:        Prescription Order Entry/Upfront Processing

Educational/Work Experience

 

  • Associates degree or 2-4 years Prescription Order Entry experience
  • 1 year of experience working in a pharmacy
  • Intermediate or Advanced computer skills
  • Previous telephone customer service experience

 

Other Qualifications

 

  • Ability to exhibit strong oral and written customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate in a positive and respectful manner with internal/external customers and internal team members
  • Ability to multi-task and adhere to timelines
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, demonstrating good time management and organizational skills

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

I.Sorting and Order Clarification                                                                                    (70%)
  • Sorts and distributes all incoming faxes to appropriate department
  • Screens all prescription orders to identify incomplete orders
  • Contacts facility via fax or phone to obtain missing information
  • Links all incomplete orders to patient profile and stored after faxed or called on for clarification

 

II.Prescription Phone Calls                                                                                                 (30%)
  • Receive incoming calls from Internal/External Customers and to exhibit the ability to assist or resolve any problems or concerns
  • Assist pharmacists with pager calls after hours
  • Make outgoing calls to appropriate facility representatives when necessary (i.e. Non-Covered items for OHMCD/Dual PDP and KYMCD/Dual PDP, Discontinued Meds, all Refills too soon, CII Calls, Out of Stock Meds, Order Clarification, etc.)
  • Fax outgoing issues to appropriate facility representatives as specified by individual facility preference when necessary (i.e. Non-Covered items for OHMCD/Dual PDP and KYMCD/Dual PDP, Discontinued Meds, Refills too soon for Anniversary and Non-anniversary scripts, CII Calls, Out of Stock Meds, Order Clarification, etc.)
